About This Opportunity

As a Network Engineer II (NOC) you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the operational excellence of our network. The ideal candidate will bring profound expertise in TCP/IP troubleshooting, site-to-site VPN, and BGP routing, combined with a technical skill set in managing AVI and F5 load balancers and proficiency with Cisco and Palo Alto network devices.

This position operates on the Third Shift, Saturday through Wednesday.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting across our TCP/IP networks, with a specific focus on site-to-site VPNs and BGP routing protocols.
  • Utilize network monitoring tools such as Solar Winds, Thousand Eyes, Pingdom, and Splunk to identify and solve network issues preemptively.
  • Employ Itential automation tools and Ansible scripts to enhance network troubleshooting and incident response.
  • Load Balancer and VPN Management: Manage and optimize AVI and F5 load balancers, ensuring efficient load distribution and network performance.
  • Configure and maintain site-to-site VPN connections, ensuring secure and reliable interconnectivity between sites.
  • Maintain and configure network hardware, particularly Cisco routers, switches, and Palo Alto firewalls, to support organizational network infrastructure.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of network interconnections and interfaces to ensure robust network architecture.
  • Provide swift and accurate resolution of network incidents, documenting and managing these through the ServiceNow ITSM platform.
  • Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts to minimize future network issues, especially concerning VPN and BGP routing.
  • Work closely with ITSM and ITIL teams within ServiceNow to align network operations with organizational processes and service management.
  • Train and mentor Tier I Network Engineers, enhancing their skills in network troubleshooting, especially in VPN and BGP contexts.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years in Network Operations or Engineering with a strong emphasis on TCP/IP troubleshooting, site-to-site VPN, and BGP routing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with AVI and F5 load balancers, as well as Cisco and Palo Alto network devices.
  • Demonstrated experience with Itential automation tools and Ansible for network scripting.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with network monitoring tools (Solar Winds, Thousand Eyes, Pingdom, Splunk).
  • CCNA certification required; CCNP or other advanced networking certifications preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
