Introduction
We are hiring a Project Manager – SVS GBPS for our Grinding, Bulk Pyro, Stirred Mills, and Smelting Business Line. The role covers end-to-end project management—starting with Handover and Kick Off, SAP allocations, budget oversight, and tracking risks and lessons learned. While primarily focused on South American projects, global assignments may be required.
Location: Sorocaba/SP or Nova Lima/BH.

You will join a Project Management team focused on our core business goals: profitability (P&L), timely delivery, customer satisfaction, meeting project requirements and scope fulfilment. We handle global brownfield Mining projects, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders including Market Area, Controlling, Support functions, and Customers. Our culture centers on customer focus, ambition, teamwork, and transparency. The team is based in South America and Africa, but you’ll also work closely with colleagues from NCA, EMEA, and APAC regions.
What you’ll do
- Oversee projects of varying complexity and ensure engineering packages are activated in SAP, including setting PS module allocations for released scope.
- Collaborate with global supply chain, engineering, procurement, and logistics teams to execute projects.
- Manage all purchasing requisitions and project finances in SAP, ensuring accuracy and responsibility for costs and revenues.
- Document lessons learned for process improvement.
- Report progress, risks, and actions to stakeholders in Portuguese and English; Spanish skills are a plus.
- Oversee client and supplier relationships for timely, quality, and budgeted deliveries.
- Implement risk mitigation and ensure compliance with standards.
- Defend the interests of the Business Area and safeguard the profitability of the projects.
- Demonstrate a high capacity to track requirements from the early stages of the project and ensure that final deliverables meet contractual requirements.
Who you are
- Fluent in Portuguese (preferably native) and fluent English, with proven ability to conduct meetings and prepare reports in both languages. Spanish is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with solid experience in the mining sector in South America. Experience in international projects with interfaces outside South America will be highly valued.
- Proficiency in SAP, especially in the PS (Project Systems), MM (Materials Management), and SD (Sales and Distribution) modules.
- Proven ability to quantify and mobilize the necessary organizational resources for executing large-scale projects.
- Proven experience in managing complex stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and internal areas such as engineering and procurement.
- Degree in Engineering. An MBA in Project Management will be considered an asset.
- Experience managing projects in global companies and multicultural environments.
- Knowledge of regulatory practices in the mining sector in South America.
- Flexibility to work on projects outside of South America according to global demands.
- Availability for international travel to visit clients, suppliers, and other organizational offices with which the professional will have constant interface.
