A global manufacturing company in São Paulo is seeking an EHS Manager to oversee environmental health and safety compliance across LATAM. The role demands a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and over 5 years of experience in EHS management within a multinational setting. Responsibilities include translating EHS regulations, training local teams, and leading EHS for new projects. Candidates must have strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills and be willing to travel across the region.

Primary Responsibilities
40% - EHS Compliance Management
  • Identify and translate EHS requirements from applicable regulations for facilities and business units
  • Train and develop EHS coordinators and facility managers / engineers
  • Promote use of EHS tools, manuals, and databases across LATAM
  • Develop programs based on existing and emerging regulations
  • Coordinate with insurance carriers for safety and property loss activities
  • Support and coordinate Process Safety Management activities
  • Complete regulatory submissions (e.g., TRI, NPRI, HAPs, Air Emission inventories)
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of compliance tasks and agency submittals
40% - Project Work
  • Spend quality time across LATAM sites to coach and support local EHS and manufacturing teams
  • Strengthen capabilities and ensure consistent implementation of standards
  • Foster a culture of prevention and continuous improvement
  • Lead EHS implementation for new plant start-ups (Greenfield projects)
  • Develop and implement EHS systems integrating corporate and local standards
  • Collaborate across regional teams to align project safety practices, permitting, and contractor management
20% - Compliance Review & Strategic Support
  • Review and guide corrective actions from audits and inspections
  • Inspect corrections for completeness and fulfillment of recommendations
  • Review CERs and facility / process plans to promote EHS best practices
  • Coordinate reviews with Corporate EHS and insurance carriers
  • Provide strategic input on facility design to streamline EHS practices
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in EHS management, preferably in a multinational manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of LATAM regulatory frameworks and compliance standards
  • Experience with Process Safety Management and risk assessment methodologies
  • Ability to travel across Latin America to support site-level implementation
  • Strong communication, training, and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience leading EHS programs for Greenfield projects
  • Familiarity with global EHS systems and corporate standardization initiatives
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting tools and databases
  • Experience coordinating with insurance carriers and external auditors
  • Bilingual (Spanish / Portuguese and English)
