Overview

We are seeking a fractional Data/AI Specialist to support our sales team on a per-hour/contract basis. This role will primarily serve as a Sales Engineer, providing technical expertise during sales calls and helping prospects understand the value of our data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Join sales calls as the technical expert, answering customer questions and providing deep product and data/AI insights.
  • Support the sales team in designing solutions that align with client needs.
  • Deliver demos, proof-of-concepts, and presentations tailored to prospects.
  • Collaborate with sales and product teams to ensure a smooth handoff of technical requirements.
  • Advise on best practices and integration paths for customers exploring data/AI solutions.
Qualifications
  • Strong background in Data/AI, personalization, or customer data platforms (CDPs).
  • Hands-on experience with BlueShift is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Pre-Sales capacity.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working fractionally on a per-hour, on-demand basis.

Technical Sales Specialist - Brazil

As a Technical Sales Specialist, you will leverage your technical expertise and sales acumen to develop new opportunities, engage key opinion leaders, and close sales in a dynamic and collaborative environment. You will play a pivotal role in advancing life sciences research and enabling affordable healthcare solutions for all.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Sales Growth and Strategy:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets in your territory.
  • Identify, qualify, and close new opportunities for MGI’s products and solutions.

Customer Engagement and Support:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, customers, and industry stakeholders in academic, government, and private sectors.
  • Provide pre-sales consultation and post-sales support, ensuring customers achieve optimal results with MGI products.

Technical Expertise and Education:

  • Deliver technical presentations, seminars, and workshops to educate customers on product capabilities and applications.
  • Collaborate with Field Application Scientists, product managers, and R&D to provide comprehensive technical and promotional support.
  • Gather and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform product development and sales strategies.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts through trade shows, vendor events, and other promotional activities.

Reporting and Administration:

  • Maintain accurate CRM records (e.g., Salesforce), prepare sales forecasts, and provide regular activity reports.
  • Monitor sales metrics to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed.

  • Up to 50% travel across the territory to engage with customers and stakeholders, demonstrate and sell NGS instruments, attend regional events, and support market initiatives.
What You Will Bring Us

Technical Expertise:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of NGS, DNA sequencing, RT-PCR, and molecular biology applications.
  • Hands-on experience with library preparation, lab automation, and system integration for sequencing workflows.
  • 5+ years of successful sales experience in life sciences, genomics, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals and develop long-term customer relationships.

Tech-Savvy Skills:

  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and MS Office Suite.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related field required; Master’s or advanced degree preferred.

Language:

  • English - advanced level
  • Spanish - intermediate/advanced knowledge desired
