About the role

The Data Engineer will collaborate closely with other Data Engineers, Software Development Engineers (SDEs), Analytics Engineers (AEs), Data Scientists (DSs), and Infrastructure Engineers (IEs) in the technology team. This role reports directly to the Director of Data Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to design and implement modular, flexible data engineering infrastructure.
• Build and maintain data products to support eCommerce, marketing, supply chain, finance, business development, and legal functions.
• Develop data models in collaboration with the Director of Analytics and Head of Infrastructure Engineering.
• Iteratively improve data pipelines and infrastructure to ensure scalability and performance.
• Support data-driven decision making across the organization.

Requirements

• Technical Expertise
  • Experience designing scalable data architectures and performing dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas).
  • Proficiency with GCP, BigQuery, Looker Studio, and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB or Cassandra.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying large datasets and building efficient ETL pipelines.
  • Hands‑on experience with Apache Airflow and Python (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of API integration for extracting data from internal and external sources.
• DevOps and Automation
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation scripts, and infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Ability to implement data versioning and quality checks.
• Data Privacy
  • Strong understanding of GDPR and CCPA compliance.
  • Implement data governance best practices, including encryption, access controls, and audit trails.
• Monitoring and Observability
  • Experience building real‑time monitoring for data pipelines and ensuring system reliability.
  • Proficiency with monitoring tools for data flow visibility.
