Weastec, Inc. was founded in 1988 as a subsidiary of Toyodenso Co. Ltd., a global leader electrical switches, electronics and sensors. Weastec supplies these products to the North American Automotive, Powersports and Power Equipment markets.

The Hillsboro headquarters, a production facility in scenic southwestern Ohio, is conveniently located to deliver product directly to major OEMs such as Honda, Toyota and Volkswagen. Weastec prides itself on superior quality and world-class supply chain management, both of which are managed from the Hillsboro facility.

In 2005, the Weastec Technical Center was established in the Columbus, Ohio suburb of Dublin. The technical center is responsible for design, development and testing of new products and is the customer liaison throughout the new product creation cycle.

In 2022, Weastec reopened the Greenfield operations facility and began the introduction of automated assembly lines. This location also serves as additional warehouse space for the Hillsboro headquarters.

Job Summary

Cross department collaboration to calculate manufacturing cost and report profitability leading up to mass production. Explore VA opportunities available for cost saving measures leading up to and beyond mass production. Support sales and JTEC requests as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate a cost table by utilizing quotes for materials, equipment, and cycle time. Calculate the manufacturing cost and share with Sales department. Once a sales price is received, Cost Planning group uses the table to calculate profitability.
  • Communicate with PICs from Sales, DE, PE, and Purchasing, both local and overseas, via meetings or emails to discuss key points of projects to ensure the schedule is being met.
  • Calculate costs of design variations to reduce overall cost. Cross department collaboration is required to update the new estimated material prices and cycle times. Compare profitability of new designs to the original quote.
  • Support Sales in material price request, document creation, project management and other areas as needed.
  • Meet with JTEC Cost Planning to cover any changes to cost calculation, BEP calculation, evaluation requirements, etc.
  • Complete process improvements, brainstorming, miscellaneous JTEC requests, cross departmental training, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally to meet with customers, suppliers, vendors, and overseas TEC plants.
Required Qualifications
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience
