Buyer CAPEX & Utilities

Job Overview

A Utilities Buyer is a key professional that is able to define the long term strategy for utilities such as water, gas, and electricity for Latin America. Main responsibilities are negotiate contracts with utility suppliers, maintain relationships with these suppliers, and monitor usage to ensure the organization is getting the best possible rates. Additionally, there is a special focus in sustainability initiatives as seeking out renewable energy sources and implementing energy‑saving strategies. This role is vital in managing costs and ensuring the smooth operation of the organization’s utilities.

Regarding CAPEX, the position is responsible for managing the effective and efficient purchasing of components, services, and capital equipment for the sites in Latin America.

Key Responsibilities

• Data collection and data management;
• Knowledge of Utilities (electricity, gas, water), Free Market of Electricity, Renewable electricity, Utilities efficiency;
• Knowledge of new Equipment & Machine acquisition, as well as updates (retrofit);
• Set up and renew cost model (clean sheet) for cost analysis;
• Support local teams from procurement perspective, i.e. Capex approval process & business case construction, contracts, commercial terms, service quality assurance / SLA, low cost x efficiency, etc;
• Support supplier relationships and maintain supplier database;
• Support projects follow up and implementation.
