We require a mechanical designer for our steel construction workshop who can estimate jobs, provide competitive client costs, verify estimates, and manage work from basic material phase through to shipment using available machines and workforce. The candidate should be able to perform site surveys, take dimensions, and create drawings according to customer requirements. The role involves designing solutions using AutoCAD or other CAD software and implementing the job independently.
Responsibilities
- Estimate projects in terms of materials used and work expenses involved, and provide competitive costs to clients.
- Verify and manage work from material phase through to shipment, utilizing available machines and workforce.
- Conduct site surveys, take dimensions, and create drawings per customer requirements.
- Design solutions using AutoCAD or other CAD software and implement the job by yourself.
- Leverage any sales activity to generate monthly target sales; this is a plus and salary is flexible.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in evaluation, estimation, and related design/workshop activities.
- Ability to run a design workshop and coordinate with shop floor for project delivery.
- Experience with AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
- Senior-level candidate; freshers are not considered.
- This is a full-time, permanent position with salary range AED 6,000 – AED 8,000 per month.
