Job description
Paragon GE is looking for a Project Technician for a staff position with an oil and gas service company in Dubai.
This is a staff role that will be office based in Dubai.

Position Overview:
This position plays a key role in providing support to the project management team for all projects undertaken by the group. With the goal of training to be a Project Manager, the position is responsible for following the standards implemented in the department and contributing to an environment focused on continuous improvement and total quality.

Position Overview:
This position plays a key role in providing support to the project management team for all projects undertaken by the group. Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and prepares project invoices.
- Manage and develop document control requirements for the assigned project team.
- Responds to internal and external inquiries in a professional manner.
- Performs accounts functions for the project team.
- Assists cost and time management for the project team.
- Maintains project records and compiles statistical reports using accounting software and excel spreadsheets.
- Composes routine correspondence as directed by management.
- Prepares international shipping documentation and coordinates project logistics.
- Grow, build and enhance positive, trusting, value-added customer and business partner relationships.
- Proactively support timely strategic planning and related change initiatives in support of sustainable business growth.
- Utilize strong technical skills in Engineering and participate as a contributing Engineer on an as needed basis.
- Ensure all technical aspects of the Project are connected and technical interfaces are managed effectively to meet the Project goals and schedules.
- Support Project Managers on key initiatives such as resources utilization, plan maintenance, and procurement.
- Manage project engineering deliverables to be on schedule and within approved budget, while meeting or exceeding corporate targets.
- Provide Support on projects from initial feasibility study, accounting/budgeting, planning, scheduling, monitoring, quality control through engineering and design review.
- Support Sales and Tendering objectives in developing new business, Stay current with industry developments in order to improve existing solutions using the latest technology to produce economical practical and imaginative designs.
- Purchase, procure, and receive electrical equipment, instrumentation and other products.
- Engage in discipline specific design and engineering tasks as needed by the project. Including the following.
- Population of instrument datasheets.
- Instrument Hook-up drawings.
- Instrument and controls wiring schematics.
- Preparation of instrument and cable schedules.
- Develop electrical distribution drawings and schematics.
- Preparation of electrical load lists.
- Develop technical bid evaluation based on project standards and specifications.
- Preparation of scope-of-work packages for engineering and construction activities.
Essential Experience and Skills Required:
- Minimum two years’ project control/support experience required. A combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
- Oil and gas industry experience preferred, Electrical or Automation experience an asset.
- Post-secondary technical degree or diploma is a minimum requirement.
- Must be highly self-motivated and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills.
- Excellent communication with the ability to interpret needs and express ideas clearly.
- Superior customer service skills with the ability to deliver results according to client specifications.
- Able to work effectively in teams as well as independently.
- Efficient organizational skills with the ability to thrive well in a deadline oriented environment.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of project management principles.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Strong MS Office skills
- Proficiency with scheduling software, MS project or similar is an asset.
