Job Title: Wet utilities Lead

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Wet Utilities Lead to join our team!

Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Lead the design of wet utilities services covering water, drainage, sewage, irrigation, gas, and chilled water service lines. Monitor team performance and initiate team development plans. Develop training plans for the team and improve engineering solutions. Reinforce and optimize engineering design methods, procedures and develop design workflows. Perform mid-year and end-of-year evaluations for the team and set goals and objectives in line with Parsons Business Plan. Foster a collaborative and innovative working environment to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. Properly distribute workload for the team members and ensure that the team is working efficiently. Work closely with design and technical teams, ensuring seamless collaboration across all project phases. Act as a mentor to utilities teams, encouraging a culture of innovation, accountability, and professional growth.

  • Leadership and Strategy: Provide strategic leadership, fostering innovation and excellence in project delivery. Contribute to the successful execution of multi-disciplinary projects by collaborating with other department heads and stakeholders. Develop project plans, define scopes, budgets, and timelines, and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery within agreed parameters. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project goals.

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with our key clients to maintain organic growth. Serve as the primary contact for clients, addressing concerns, providing updates, and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to identify future opportunities. Maintain a strong relationship with approving authorities.

  • Operational Excellence: Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and monitoring. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. Implement quality assurance and control measures to maintain the highest standards in project delivery. Establish and maintain robust operational processes to enhance efficiency and quality. Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. Strong understanding of sector pricing strategies for work winning and delivery of projects. Leverage emerging technologies and industry best practices to optimize project performance. Drive innovation in wet utilities project delivery and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Develop operation in the BIM environment, thinking about processes and methods as well as engineering automation. Work closely with Project Managers/Design Managers to resolve any existing or forecasted problems related to quality of work, schedule performance or productivity. Provide technical writing, specifications, technical project bidding support. Provide input to discipline staffing budget estimates and staffing assignment schedules on each project. Provide input to staff forecasting reports. Promote value engineering and design optimization implementation. Has strong experience in Water software (Bentley, Infoworks, etc.) and is knowledgeable with GIS and BIM software (Civil 3D, Navisworks, Revit, etc.).

What Required Skills You'll Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree is preferred.

  • Minimum of 18 years of experience in water and utilities networks services, with at least 15 years of relative experience in a similar role.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex engineering projects.

  • Proven ability to direct work involving complex technical situations.

  • Thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities of specific engineering software for use in completing engineering assignments.

  • Demonstrable ability to work effectively with diverse teams of people, from contractors to local government officials.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Proven expertise in managing large, diverse teams and delivering complex engineering projects.

  • Excellent client management skills with a track record of developing and sustaining client relationships.

  • Familiarity with regional regulatory frameworks and industry standards, international standards and Abu Dhabi QCC Standards.

  • Exceptional strategic leadership and decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to inspire, mentor, and lead diverse, multidisciplinary teams.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of Arabic language (speaking, reading and writing) is preferred.
