ADNOC Trading Limited (“AT”) is seeking an ambitious and motivated Trading Contracts Manager to join its Legal, Compliance & Contracts team of 11 in Abu Dhabi.

Incorporated in the Abu Dhabi Global Market, Abu Dhabi’s international financial centre, AT commenced commercial operations in December 2020 and currently trades crude oil, LNG, sulphur and emissions. It plans to expand the range of products its trades over time as well as extend its geographical expansion by opening offices overseas (Singapore and Geneva are to commence trading operations by end of 2024, Houston will be following in the near future.

The Role

The Trading Contracts Manager serves as a central point of contact for trading contractual matters drafting, evaluation, negotiation, and execution—and ensures agreements accurately reflect terms agreed by trading and comply with company policy and control frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and approve sales and purchase confirmations, amendments, and counters, ensuring accuracy and consistency with system entries.
  • Ensure all agreements comply with AT/ADNOC policies (compliance language, law, jurisdiction, confidentiality, sovereign immunity).
  • Highlight and report any deviations or breaches to AT General Counsel and Head of Trading.
  • Support Front Office and other functions in resolving contractual disputes and negotiating complex agreements (term deals, tenders, storage agreements, master/side letters).
  • Review third-party terms and negotiate amendments to minimize exposure and ensure compliance.
  • Act as gatekeeper for contract clauses and templates in the clause database.
  • Maintain accurate records of all confirmations and contracts in line with AT/ADNOC policy.
Job Specifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in law, Legal, or related field
  • Master’s degree or professional qualification is an advantage

  • 7+ years in trading, operations, or legal functions of a trading company
  • 4+ years in contracts management, preferably in a similar role
