A major oil and gas company in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems at aviation fuel depots. The ideal candidate will hold a Technical Diploma and have at least 4 years of relevant experience. Job description
Overview

To carry out scheduled preventive maintenance program and any assigned electrical breakdown maintenance on both static and mobile electrical systems, equipment and installations at all Aviation Fuel Depots, as per Aviation/JIG standards and manufacturers recommendations.

Responsibilities
  • Carries out routine preventive maintenance of static and mobile electrical/electronic/automation equipment including LV/MV/HV Electrical Panels, Aviation Fueling systems, Electrical Motors-Pumps, Compressors, Generators and HVAC systems at airport depots, Fire Detection/ Alarm Control Systems, process instruments such as Level/ Flow/ Pressure and Temperature Transmitters, Process Automation/SCADA/PLC as assigned per monthly schedules and according to company procedures, and records in accordance with laid down procedures.
  • Carries out all electrical / electronic modification work as directed by his supervisors, and as per standards of work and safety without direct supervision.
  • Tests electrical/electronic systems, equipment and installations after repair for satisfactory operations.
  • Traces out and rectifies faults by following the circuit diagrams and equipment drawings/manuals.
  • Ensures all safety precautions are taken before and during execution of electrical works. Maintains all safety equipment.
  • Visits all airport depots and carries out periodic checks on all mobile and static electrical systems, equipment and installations. Reports and attends faults, carries out any necessary repair and maintenance works, and records accordingly on standards forms.
  • Prepares store requisitions as per catalogues, part list, etc.
  • Retaining & Maintaining all documents/checklists for scheduled tasks as per aviation retention policy.
  • Attends all assigned breakdowns promptly, carries out necessary repair works and ensures that equipment is returned to service as soon as possible. Ensures all safety precautions are taken.
  • Ensures the safety instructions are rigidly adhered to during all stages of the work in a hazardous area (safety checks).
  • Works in 24X7 Shift Cycle as required.
  • Carries out all electrical/electronic modification work as directed by his supervisors and as per safety procedures.
  • Prepares reports of work done and problems observed during his visits to other remote area aviation depots.
  • Operates and updates records in computer-based maintenance program system for aviation equipment and facilities as per instructions. Ensures all maintenance is recorded as per company procedures.
  • Operates Inventory management System and computer-based maintenance program, up to his limits of authority in the computer system.
  • Ensures that all jobs to be carried out under approved PTW and should comply with companies HSE rules.
HSSE
  • Report to Electrical Supervisor of any expected dangers or hazards, immediately.
  • Reports all incidents, near misses and hazards to supervisor proactively.
  • Follows all safety regulations and procedures including PPE.
  • Participates in safety toolbox talks.
  • Participate in emergency exercises when conducted.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • Technical Diploma in Electronics or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in the relevant field.
  • 4 years of experience in similar role.
