Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a System Senior Engineer to oversee the planning and execution of airport systems projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Airports related IT/ELV works, strong leadership skills, and a graduate degree in a relevant field. Responsibilities include design reviews, project schedule monitoring, and technical support to staff. This role is based in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience, with 10 years in Special Airport Systems and Airports related IT/ELV works.
  • Familiar with SAS and IT/ELV systems design, especially for LAN/WAN, Airport security systems, etc.
  • PMP Certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor planning process and execution schedules.
  • Conduct technical reviews of Engineering applications and specifications.
  • Finalize design drawings, specifications, and prepare tender documents.

General Description of Role and Responsibilities
  • Implementing and monitoring the planning process & execution/schedules, correspondence, and representation in multiple forums with other governmental authorities and external partners as well as multiple internal departments to ensure efficient delivery of new facilities and smooth relations with involved bodies.
  • Oversee Design Drawings, material specifications, shop drawings, and design concepts, provide necessary recommendations and comments, and present ideas to other departments.
  • Conducting Technical reviews of Engineering applications and specifications of the applicable product line in connection with customer requests.
  • Review and approve actual project designs, plans and drawings by consultants, and assess and endorse all cost and contractual terms and conditions.
  • Review materials being used at sites for quality, quantity, price, and follow-up on any requirements.
  • Finalize design drawings, specifications, and BOQ to prepare the tender documents.
  • Participates in Planning design, technical review and implementation of new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice and data communication networks. Access control systems, Public Address systems, CCTV, FA, etc.
  • Implement the project schedule and monitor the progress of the projects for timely execution of the project through daily/weekly/monthly reports with respect to review of the overall project.
  • Provides technical consultation, training, and support to IT staff as designated.
  • Participated in the design of information and operational support systems.
  • Create and maintain programmatic and technical documentation to ensure efficient planning and execution.
  • Carrying factory visits for QA/QC audits and production capacity and preparing factory visits reports.
  • Participated in the Contractor's technical evaluation review sessions.
  • Informs themselves of the relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals and Procedures within Hill International and ensures continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Hill.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
  • Graduate in Electronics & Telecommunications / Aviation / Computer Science with professional accreditation in the related field PMP Certification is desirable.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience, out of which the last 10 years should be in the Special Airport Systems (SAS) and Airports related IT / ELV works.
  • Must be Familiar with all SAS and IT / ELV systems design aspects and involved materials selection, especially for LAN / WAN communication networks, Airport security systems (CCTV / SACS), Public Address systems (PAS), Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS), Baggage Information Display System (BIDS), Aircraft Standing Equipment, 400 Hz conversion systems, Baggage Handling System, PLBs, Radio Communication System, Master Clock System etc. And International Codes and Standards of the Aviation Industry, especially for Communications & Security Systems.
