Support Assistant

The British International School Abu Dhabi is seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Support Assistant to join our committed and high‑performing operations team. The closing date for applications is the 18th February 2026.

About You

You will be a dedicated and proactive Support Assistant who takes pride in contributing to all aspects of school life. You will have a positive, can‑do attitude and will always strive to do your very best for students, parents, and colleagues. You will be flexible and reliable, with the ability to support learning and operations across different areas of the school as needed. You will be an excellent communicator who works well with all members of the school community. You will take an active role in supporting students in and out of the classroom and will assist with the daily school transport, ensuring the safety and well‑being of all students. You will help to promote our culture of care, enjoyment, and success, and will take pride in being part of a supportive and dynamic team. Keen to collaborate and contribute positively, you will have good interpersonal skills, a helpful nature, and the confidence to build strong working relationships. About the Role

The Support Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well‑being of students across the school and during transport. The postholder is responsible for supervising children on school buses, registering them on and off, maintaining communication with parents, and ensuring all safety procedures are followed throughout each journey. When not engaged in bus duties, the Support Assistant provides valuable administrative and practical help across different areas of the school, including classrooms, the library, the clinic, and office spaces. They support teachers and students during lessons and break times, promoting a positive and caring environment. The role requires excellent communication and organisational skills, patience, reliability, and a proactive attitude. Flexibility and professionalism are key, as is a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, care, and teamwork within a busy and diverse international school setting.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise students during school transport and on school buses.
• Register students on and off buses, maintaining accurate records.
• Maintain communication with parents regarding transport matters.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times during journeys.
• Provide administrative and practical support in classrooms, the library, the clinic, and office spaces.
• Support teachers and students during lessons and break times.
• Promote a positive and caring environment for all students.
