Job summary

A prestigious exhibition venue in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Junior Structural Engineer to ensure the structural integrity of exhibition stands. The role involves reviewing designs, conducting onsite inspections, and providing technical support. Candidates should have at least 4 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Proficiency in English and knowledge of structural engineering software such as AutoCAD and STAAD are essential. This position demands flexibility for onsite presence during events, often requiring evening and weekend work.

Job description
Core Duties & Responsibilities
  • Review exhibitions stand designs for structural integrity and compliance with safety standards. Ensure compliance with DWTC health & safety guidelines and other relevant international standards
  • Conduct onsite inspections to verify that exhibition stands are constructed in accordance with approved designs and standards. Maintain accurate documentation of inspection reports, findings, and recommendations
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders, including designers, contractors, and event organizers
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders as needed.
  • Follow up on stand completion status and ensure that the halls are ready for the opening
  • Carry out pre-opening checks
  • To check the technical drawings and calculations of the stand
  • (Ensure all Engineering procedures are implemented within the area of his/her responsibility
Operating Environment
  • Due to the nature of the work, timings may be affected by the ongoing events, the job requires a lot of onsite presence throughout the venue and unsociable working hours (mostly evenings, weekends and public holidays) as per each event’s operational requirements
  • Events are taking place mostly indoors however some elements may take place outdoor, and some events may take place in offsite venues managed by DEC. Meetings may also take place at clients’ premises
Formal Education

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Equivalent certification courses

Work Experience

Minimum 4 years in the capacity of Junior Structural Engineer
