Job Summary :
KN International is seeking a Specialist Marine Engineer (Part-Time or Full-Time, Hybrid) to support the design, analysis, and supervision of marine and coastal infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in the planning, design, and execution of ports, harbors, waterfronts, marine structures, and coastal protection works.
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining office presence in Abu Dhabi with remote work flexibility, depending on project and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Marine Engineering Design and Analysis
- Lead the design of marine and coastal structures, including quay walls, breakwaters, jetties, revetments, and dredging works.
- Conduct hydraulic, hydrodynamic, and coastal process analyses to inform design solutions.
- Develop design calculations, drawings, and technical specifications for marine works.
- Perform structural analysis of marine structures using specialized software.
- Project Coordination and Technical Support
- Provide technical expertise during feasibility studies, concept development, and detailed design stages.
- Coordinate with civil, structural, and environmental teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Support site teams during construction phases by reviewing marine method statements, shop drawings, and material approvals.
- Client and Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, contractors, and other consultants on marine engineering issues.
- Attend technical meetings, design reviews, and project coordination sessions.
- Provide technical input for permits, NOCs, and regulatory submissions.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare comprehensive marine engineering reports, technical notes, and design documentation.
- Support tender preparation by developing scope documents, BOQs, and technical evaluations.
- Compliance and Standards
- Ensure all marine designs are compliant with UAE regulations, international standards, and best practices (e.g., PIANC, BS, Eurocode).
- Promote sustainability, safety, and resilience in marine and coastal engineering solutions.
Required Qualifications & Skills :
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 10-15 years of experience in marine and coastal engineering, with UAE or GCC region experience preferred.
- Proficiency in marine and structural design software such as SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, MIKE21, or similar.
- Strong understanding of coastal processes, marine construction methods, and environmental considerations.
- Excellent skills in technical writing, project documentation, and client communication.
- Membership in professional organizations such as ICE, PIANC, ASCE, or equivalent is an advantage.
Preferred Attributes :
- Experience in design and construction supervision of ports, marinas, reclamation works, and coastal protection projects.
- Familiarity with numerical modeling for waves, currents, sediment transport, and shoreline evolution.
- A collaborative, detail-oriented, and solution-driven professional attitude.
