Job Description
Purpose of the Job:
Reporting to the AVP – AML Quality Check & Training, the main responsibility of this role is to support the business areas covering AML monitoring activities for the Group and ensure efforts are made to align related policies and procedures with regulatory requirements and applicable laws and regulations.
Tasks:
- Support the AVP – AML Quality Check & Training in implementing and monitoring the AML framework and plan to address compliance needs in line with laws, rules, and regulations, aligning with Group FAB TM Policy and Procedures.
- Perform quality checks on alerts in the AML monitoring system and identify the need to file internal Suspicious Transactions Reports (STRs).
- Assess conformance with relevant Group Compliance Policies and Procedures, including Transaction Monitoring Procedures.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of controls used to mitigate risks.
- Identify deficiencies and inaccuracies in monitored activities.
- Provide training to staff to raise compliance awareness regarding TM and FCC procedures.
- Maintain effective relationships with related divisions for issue escalation and risk management.
- Assist in providing timely and accurate compliance advice on AML monitoring matters raised by business functions.
- Stay updated on rules, regulations, and best practices related to AML, assessing their impact on FAB, and inform the AVP accordingly.
- Respond promptly to compliance clearance requests.
- Execute other duties as directed by the AVP – AML Quality Check & Training.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Management, Banking, or Finance; certification in compliance, AML, risk management, or internal audit is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Compliance and/or Audit within banks.
- Excellent understanding of regional laws and international regulations.
- Strong knowledge of AML/CTF applicable to various banking functions.
- Strong interpersonal, management, and facilitation skills.
- Team player capable of meeting deadlines and managing challenging workloads.
- Fluent in English and Arabic, with excellent written and verbal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and pace.
- Discreet, with high integrity, capable of handling sensitive information confidentially.
