Job description

Job Purpose:

The Shift In charge will be responsible for overseeing and managing the grease production operations during the assigned shift. This includes supervising plant personnel, ensuring safe and efficient operations, maintaining product quality, monitoring equipment, and coordinating with other departments to meet production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Shift Operations Supervision

· Monitor and control all production activities of grease manufacturing during the shift.

· Ensure smooth functioning of mixers, heating systems, filling lines, and other equipment.

· Start-up and shut-down procedures as per SOPs.

2. Team Supervision & Coordination

· Supervise machine operators, helpers, and technicians.

· Allocate manpower efficiently and ensure adherence to duties.

· Provide on-the-spot training to workers as needed.

3. Quality Control

· Ensure product quality as per batch specifications and report any deviations immediately.

· Coordinate with the QA/QC team for sample collection and feedback.

· Implement corrective actions if product quality is out of specification.

4. Safety, Health & Environment

· Enforce safety protocols and use of PPE during operations.

· Report any incidents, unsafe conditions, or near-misses immediately.

· Ensure safe handling and storage of raw materials and finished products.

5. Documentation & Reporting

· Maintain accurate shift-wise production logs, downtime reports, and maintenance records.

· Prepare shift handover reports and communicate with the incoming Shift Incharge.

· Record raw material consumption and report any shortages to the Production Manager.

6. Equipment Monitoring

· Regularly inspect machines and coordinate with the maintenance team in case of breakdowns or preventive maintenance.

· Ensure proper cleaning and housekeeping of equipment and surrounding areas.

7. Coordination with Other Departments

· Coordinate with logistics for dispatch of finished goods.

· Work with the maintenance, quality, and warehouse teams for seamless operations.

Required Candidate's Profile:-

· Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent.

· 3–7 years of experience in grease manufacturing (preferably in a supervisory role).

· Knowledge of grease production processes, blending, heating systems, and filling operations.

· Familiar with plant safety standards, equipment handling, and troubleshooting.

· Ability to handle shift responsibilities independently and make quick decisions under pressure.

· Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

· 12 hours shift a day (Day / Night).
