Job Description:
Account Manager – Web Hosting Company
Working Hours: Sun-Thu 9am-6pm.
Probation period: 6 months
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The duties of the CRM include sales and technical tasks, managing the complete customer life cycle from ordering to support and follow-ups.
- Oversee daily operations of the technical support helpdesk (ticket system).
- Respond to technical issues via phone and email, logging helpdesk tickets.
- Manage customer accounts through the internal web system (WHMCS).
- Assist customers on live chat and the internal phone system with technical issues (levels 1, 2, 3).
- Have knowledge of Linux/Windows web server operations.
- Understand different web server types, operating systems, control panels (cPanel, Plesk), and management.
- Utilize basic SSH commands & RDP tools.
- Set up new servers from scratch, including installation, hardening, and maintenance.
- Perform security hardening, troubleshooting, and server analysis.
- Handle spam, IP blacklist issues, and manage server IP blacklists and SMTP issues.
- Coordinate with data center providers to set up and maintain servers.
- Configure shared, VPS, Cloud, and dedicated hosting packages.
- Understand and implement new cloud technologies (VMware, Xen, KVM, Hyper-V, AWS, DigitalOcean, Google Cloud, Azure, etc.).
- Have knowledge of common software like WordPress, Joomla, email marketing tools.
- Take responsibility for the full technical operations of all servers and systems.
- Work independently or remotely when needed, proactively responding to customers and team members.
- Advise management on new tools, software, and hardware options.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required:
- Proficiency with internet tools, SSH, RDP, email, domain names, DNS, IP addresses (v4, v6), DNS zone files.
- Strong knowledge of CentOS, Ubuntu, Windows, etc.
- Experience with various web servers, email servers, VPS, Cloud, and dedicated hosting.
- Experience with cloud setup, load balancing, geo balancing, and failover configurations.
- Experience in web server security, spam management, website hacking mitigation, and server hardening.
- Previous experience working in a web hosting company.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
- Ability to create and edit technical knowledge base materials.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); Arabic and other languages are a bonus.
Bonus/Extra Skills:
- Graphic Design skills.
- At least 1 year of experience in e-commerce, website design, or basic programming.
- Experience with PHP, HTML5, MySQL, ASP, .NET, and MSSQL.
- Prior experience in IT support and hosting companies.
- Entrepreneurial mindset.
Note: Training will be provided during the first month.
