Job description
Role Purpose:

The Senior Specialist oversees invoicing, payment processing and account reconciliation to ensure timely and accurate collection of receivables. He also assists with maintaining general ledger entries, preparing financial reports and supporting month-end closings. The role also includes ensuring compliance with accounting standards while contributing to the Company’s overall financial accuracy.

Key Accountabilities:
ERP Implementation for Finance Functions:
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end ERP implementation for Finance, including planning, design, build, testing, and go-live support.
  • Act as the Finance process owner for ERP modules such as General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR),
  • Fixed Assets, Cash & Treasury, Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Translate finance business requirements into functional ERP specifications.
  • Work closely with IT teams and external ERP vendors/consultants to ensure correct system configuration.
  • Oversee UAT (User Acceptance Testing), data migration, cutover planning, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Ensure ERP controls comply with accounting standards, audit, and internal control requirements.
Finance Process Design and Optimization:
  • Design and document end-to-end finance processes aligned with best practices.
  • Drive process standardization, simplification, and automation across finance.
  • Identify gaps between current processes and ERP capabilities and propose solutions.
  • Ensure processes support accurate financial reporting, close efficiency, and scalability.
  • Define KPIs and controls for finance operations.
Stakeholder Management and Governance:
  • Act as the primary Finance SPOC for ERP-related decisions.
  • Partner with Finance leadership, business teams, IT, and vendors to ensure alignment.
  • Manage timelines, dependencies, risks, and issue resolution.
  • Support change management, training, and adoption across finance teams.
Accounts Receivable:
  • Act as the AR process owner during ERP implementation.
  • Define and document AR business requirements and translate them into ERP functional specifications.
  • Support configuration of ERP AR modules (customer master, billing, receivables, cash application, credit management).
  • Participate in data migration, UAT, cutover planning, and post-go-live support.
  • Design and optimize end-to-end AR processes
Cash Management:
  • Act as the Cash Management / Treasury process owner during ERP implementation.
  • Define and document cash and treasury business requirements for ERP configuration.
  • Support setup and integration of: Bank master data, Payment and receipt processes & Cash positioning and forecasting
  • Bank statement processing and reconciliations
  • Participate in data migration, UAT, cutover planning, and post-go-live support.
  • Design and optimize end-to-end cash management processes
Fixed Assets:
  • Act as the Fixed Assets process owner during ERP implementation.
  • Define and document fixed asset business requirements for ERP configuration.
  • Support setup of ERP FA modules, including Asset classes and capitalization rules, Depreciation methods and useful lives & Asset transfers, disposals, and reporting
  • Participate in data migration, UAT, cutover planning, and post-go-live support.
  • Design and optimize fixed asset processes.
Accounts Payable:
  • Act as the AP process owner during ERP implementation.
  • Define and document AP and P2P business requirements for ERP configuration.
  • Support setup of ERP AP modules, including Invoice processing and approvals, Payment methods and payment runs & Vendor master data
  • Integration with purchasing and receiving
  • Participate in data migration, UAT, cutover planning, and post-go-live support.
Employee Disbursements:
  • Act as the Employee Disbursements process owner during ERP implementation.
  • Define and document business requirements for employee disbursement processes in the ERP.
  • Support setup and integration of: Expense management modules, Payroll interfaces and postings & Employee master data
  • Approval workflows and controls
  • Participate in data migration, UAT, cutover planning, and post-go-live support.
General Ledger, Budgeting and Reporting:
  • Act as the GL, Budgeting & Reporting process owner during ERP implementation.
  • Define and document business and functional requirements for: Chart of accounts and financial structures, Close and consolidation processes & Budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Partner with IT and ERP vendors to ensure accurate system configuration.
  • Oversee data migration, UAT, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Ensure tight integration with: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets & Cash & Treasury
VAT Return Preparation:
  • Act as the VAT / Indirect Tax process owner during ERP implementation.
  • Define and document VAT and indirect tax business requirements for ERP configuration.
  • Support setup of: Tax codes and determination logic, VAT reporting structures & Integration with AR, AP, and GL
  • Participate in data migration, UAT, cutover planning, and post-go-live support.
  • Ensure ERP outputs support accurate VAT reporting and statutory returns.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures:
  • Follow Relevant Policies: Ensure that all activities within the department are conducted according to the company’s established policies. This includes policies related to accounting, VAT, budgeting, cash management, and other financial or operational processes.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Contribute to Identifying Areas for Improvement: Actively seek and propose areas where current systems, processes, and practices can be improved. This may involve reviewing workflows, assessing performance, or gathering feedback from internal teams to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or opportunities for optimization.
Others:
  • Prepare & Update SOPs: Assist in creating and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) for financial and accounting processes. Ensure these documents reflect current best practices and compliance with regulations.
  • Document Retention & Filing: Maintain accurate and organized filing of accounting records to comply with legal requirements, company guidelines, and audit needs. Ensure all documents are easily retrievable for future audits or regulatory inspections.
Education, Experience & Skills:
Education:
  • A minimum qualification required is a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
Experience:
  • Relevant Professional Accounting qualification is an advantage.
  • Minimum experience required is 7 - 10 years in a similar position.
  • Understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
  • Experience with Big 4 auditing / accounting firms is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle and SAP and basic computer programs (Word Processing, Spreadsheets, PowerPoint, etc.)
