Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our dynamic team in Dubai United Arab Emirates. As a Senior Project Engineer you will play a crucial role in designing planning and delivering complex projects within the electricity distribution and transmission industry. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and innovate in a fast-paced technically challenging environment.

Responsibilities

• Design plan and execute large-scale electrical engineering projects from conception to completion ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Develop and implement project plans including resource allocation budgeting and scheduling
• Lead and mentor project teams fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
• Conduct thorough site investigations and develop comprehensive engineering solutions and designs
• Manage multiple concurrent projects balancing priorities and resources effectively
• Prepare detailed cost proposals quotations and validated estimates for project offers
• Oversee equipment specification procurement and supplier/contractor interfaces
• Review and approve designs submissions and tenders from various stakeholders
• Ensure project delivery meets quality safety and environmental standards
• Conduct regular project audits and site inspections to maintain high-quality standards
• Identify and mitigate project risks developing contingency plans as needed
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technological advancements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred); HNC or equivalent qualifications will be considered
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the electricity distribution and/or transmission industry with a proven track record in project engineering
• Demonstrated experience managing major projects and high-volume workstreams including responsibility for projects valued in excess of $5 million
• Strong technical knowledge across all distribution asset classes (cables overhead lines substations and civil works)
• Expertise in managing projects from low voltage up to and including 66kV systems
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and software tools
• NEBOSH certification or equivalent qualification in safety management
• Experience working on CDM (Construction Design and Management) notifiable projects
• Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide diverse project teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented approach to work
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize effectively
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time within budget and to high-quality standards
• Familiarity with industry regulations and standards in the UAE electrical sector (preferred)
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required
