Job Objective

Contributing to technical delivery of engineering excellence through:

  • Executing assigned scopes of work
  • Providing discipline expertise to the business
  • Supporting and supervising task delegation to team
  • Using technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce engineering deliverables including complex problems
  • Completes engineering tasks with minimal guidance; may serve as primary discipline engineer or discipline technical authority on projects with small to medium complexity
  • Performs engineering assignments representing a significant portion of a larger project; selects engineering techniques to solve problems and makes design recommendations
  • Requires mature professional knowledge in planning and conducting assignments with coordination of difficult tasks
  • Applies specific area(s) of expertise in own discipline area
  • In consultancy environments, may review and manage complex projects within area of expertise or multidisciplinary in nature
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Executing Assigned Scopes of Work
  • Participates as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering assignment
  • Directs preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned projects
  • Ensures successful completion of the assigned project/phase within budgeted time and cost constraints
  • Participates in defining engineering approaches, planning and scheduling work
  • Evaluates problems, organizes investigations and establishes general performance specifications for components, equipment, systems, processes, etc.
  • Check engineering calculations and drawings in accordance with industry codes and standards; assist with the development of less senior technical professionals
  • Adhere to relevant discipline-specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement
  • Participate in audits and incident investigations as required
  • Performs complex engineering tasks related to specific units of major projects
  • Participate in site visits, project review meetings, design reviews and other workshops as required
  • Organising and active participation in design reviews
Providing discipline expertise
  • Solves problems requiring new approaches or new uses for existing approaches; exercises mature professional judgment
  • Modifies established guidelines, devises new approaches, applies existing criteria in new ways
  • Regularly functions as a technical leader or significant contributor to a major complex problem or project
  • Produces innovative ideas and solves problems requiring development of new approaches
  • Uses creativity and professional judgment to formulate results based on standards and experience
  • Develops unique solutions for complex technical problems

  • Provide technical input and support to proposals as required
Supporting and Supervising task delegation to team
  • May supervise a small work group with coaching; may provide guidance in area of specialization
  • Assist in managerial tasks such as assigning tasks, planning and coordinating portions of the engineering work, preparing scopes, schedules, and budgets
  • Attend project meetings and develop less-experienced professionals
  • Discuss priorities with senior engineers and adjust resource implications
  • Approve work schedules and recommend increased resources
  • Make commitments on project acceptance, completion dates, resources and staff
  • Coordinate activities of engineering and design groups for small projects
  • Participate in developing deadlines and work to be done
  • May manage small projects with responsibility for cost, schedule, resources and risk
  • Provide HSSE leadership and ensure safety requirements are met

  • Engage with inter-discipline community and promote discipline including networking/knowledge sharing

Expected :

  • B.Sc. or equivalent degree in Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 10+ years relevant experience in major Brownfield oil & gas projects, including at least five (5) years in a similar role
Knowledge, skills and experience
  • Experience in Oil and Gas projects across lifecycle in GCC region, preferred
  • Pre-FEED, FEED experience is required
  • Detailed Engineering experience is preferred
