Senior Pricing Actuary

Job Overview

The Senior Pricing Actuary/Analyst will involve assessing reinsurance treaties, developing and pricing products, and ensuring compliance with professional standards, while supporting cross-functional teams.

What you do:

  1. Assess reinsurance treaties, including setting prices, guidelines, and authority levels.
  2. Develop products, including benefit design and pricing.
  3. Assess impacts of changes in benefits, guidelines, and regulations.
  4. Set key actuarial assumptions such as medical trends, IBNR, and seasonality factors.
  5. Underwrite large tenders and key accounts.
  6. Analyze experience and recommend corrective actions.
  7. Develop, test, and maintain pricing tools for underwriting.
  8. Conduct peer reviews of colleagues' work.
  9. Prepare executive summaries and detailed pricing notes, documenting methodologies properly.
  10. Uphold professional standards in technical work and communicate findings effectively to management or clients.
  11. Support sales and business development teams in client negotiations.
  12. Engage with claims, policy administration, and tariff management teams.
  13. Ensure compliance with internal governance standards.
  14. Streamline existing processes and develop new ones.
  15. Train and onboard new team members.

What you bring:

  1. Minimum of 5 exams passed from SOA, IFoA, or other reputable actuarial institutes.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics preferred.
  3. At least 4 years of experience in the MEA Health/Medical line of business; UAE experience preferred.
  4. At least 4 years of experience in actuarial pricing; experience with advanced methods like GLMs is a plus.
  5. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong skills in Word and VBA are required.
  6. Experience with Power BI or Alteryx is beneficial.

Skills:

  1. Strong numerical ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  3. Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
  4. Physically fit and legally permitted to work in the country.
