Knowledge / Experience / Competencies Required
Job Specific Knowledge:
- Experience in execution of Concept FEED and Detail Engineering for onshore & downstream Oil and Gas projects.
- Perform engineering design for I&C System for Oil and Gas projects.
- Preparation/review of all I&C Engineering deliverables such as I&C specifications, data sheets, Instrumentation & Control System Philosophy, Control System Architecture, Instrument Adequacy Report, Instrument Index, I&C Cable Block Diagrams, I&C Equipment List, Schedules, I/O list, SIL Assessment Report, Instrument Sizing Calculations, Instrument Loop Diagrams, Instrument Hook-up Drawings, Layout drawings, wiring details, Equipment sizing, I&C MTO.
- IES & Control room layouts & Field layouts for onshore Oil & Gas projects.
- Guiding 3D modeler for 3D modelling activity.
- Technical Bid Evaluation for all I&C Items including ICSS, etc.
- Industry Specific Experience: Good knowledge of ADNOC standards, SHELL DEPs, International standards such as IEEE, ANSI, IESNA, NFPA, IEC Standards.
Education Qualifications & Accreditation:
- Graduate Degree in Instrumentation Engineering; Chartered Engineer is preferred.
- HSE Capability: Good knowledge of Hazardous Area classification, Instrumentation Safety in design, Sustainable design engineering, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL.
- People Skills: Good communication skills, Leadership skills, and ability to guide team working locally and in workshare with center of excellence and integrated delivery, mentoring junior Engineers.
- Other: Good command of English language, both verbal and written, including report writing and presentation skills.
Authority / Freedom to Act / Decision Making (Including Budgetary Responsibility)
- Extent of Guidance or Control: Should be able to guide a team of Engineers and Designers in workshare.
- Impact of Decisions on Results: As a discipline lead, responsible for controlling budget, planning, and delivering projects as per schedule, making decisions for project success.

Key Accountabilities of Position:
- Lead and oversee instrumentation and control systems for oil and gas projects, ensuring design, implementation, and maintenance of advanced control systems and instrumentation equipment.
- Develop discipline work plans and supervise I&C engineers, designers, and technical personnel.
- Provide expertise in specification, design, and selection of instruments, controllers, and control systems.
- Manage all aspects of instrumentation and control engineering, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, and risk management.
- Manage design changes within project budgets and schedules, collaborating with project teams for seamless integration.
- Oversee preparation of design deliverables and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Interact effectively with client engineering teams for approval of design deliverables.
- Represent organizational capabilities at various forums.
- Design onshore control rooms, instrumentation equipment rooms, and interact with other disciplines, clients, and vendors.
- Evaluate and specify I&C equipment, automation systems, and cabling in detailed design packages.
- Prepare material requisitions, review offers, clarify technical aspects, and evaluate bids for all I&C items.
- Work with SPI & Aveva Instrumentation, including 3D modelling activities.
- Prepare modification scope of work for existing control systems.
- Participate in site surveys and data collection for instrumentation design.
- Engage in workshops such as design reviews, HAZOP, SIL risk, energy optimization, value engineering, and constructability reviews.
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and maintain technical integrity of instrumentation deliverables.
- Work on proposals and estimate manpower requirements.
