Our client is a global law firm and they are currently wishing to recruit a Senior HR Advisor to report to the Senior HR Manager, who is also based in the Dubai office.
You will be part of the HR Business Partnering team supporting numerous offices across the Middle East and Asia. Occasional travel around the region and to the UK will be required.
Ideally you will have regional HR experience in a business partnering capacity and able to act as an expert on local compliance requirements in the regions this role will cover, both relation to employment, as well as an advisor to the business.
You can expect to work cohesively with the wider HR Team, key stakeholders and partners within the business providing guidance, support, and coaching. You will also work collaboratively with the Office Managers in each of their locations.
This role provides comprehensive operational HR support to their fee earning teams and business services colleagues, as well as working with management stakeholders across the region on people delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will be expected to have a solid understanding of the local laws and regulations which apply to the Middle East regions in which they operate;
- Local tax, visa, employment, and regulatory requirements in each of the Middle East jurisdictions in relation to people matters
- Ensuring continuous review of HR procedures and policies, ensuring compliance with local regulations
HR Advisory:
- Building strong relationships with local teams, acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across the firm
- Advising on the day-to-day application of local HR policies and procedures, including handling a variety of employee relations issues through to exit, where necessary
- Providing day to day benefits information and advice as required.
- Dealing with all parental leavers/ returners, including handling working flexibly applications in line with local regulations and our firm's values/policies
- Analysing the results of any cyclical surveys undertaken across the firm (such as Inclusion or Engagement surveys) and disseminating results to regional management teams with a view to developing action plans and owners.
Resourcing:
- Working closely with the Resourcing team on recruitment needs hires, inputting a good understanding of the local market, including providing guidance on relocation packages where needed
- Supporting all new joiners from point of offer through to joining and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience
- Supporting leavers from point of resignation to leaving date. Conducting exit interviews as required and proactively addressing any feedback as required
Development:
- Supporting line managers with the Firm's regular Check-ins process to ensure meetings take place and any training and development needs and/ or performance matters are addressed
- Assisting Line Managers with client group promotion processes and supporting promotion candidates throughout
- Working closely with the relevant management team and line managers in undertaking the annual employee salary review process within the region, with oversight by the Senior HR Manager
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
- Ideally you will be of graduate calibre and with a suitable HR qualification, but this is not essential
- Previous generalist or Business Partnering HR experience at a similar level is required, within a professional services and must be gained in the region
- HR experience in the Middle East is essential, with exposure to international headquarters being advantageous
- The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- A clear ability to manage a complex and changing workload, flexibly and efficiently with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines whilst maintaining a high attention to detail at all times.
