We are seeking a highly qualified and detail-oriented Safety Officer to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. The Safety Officer plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment across numerous construction sites. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of safety regulations, risk assessment procedures, and emergency response planning specific to the construction domain. The ideal candidate will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and employees to foster a culture of safety and ensure that all operational practices align with legal safety requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop, deliver, and coordinate safety training programs for employees and subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety activities, incidents, and inspections.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety measures into daily operations.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety tools.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes affecting construction safety.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Excellent observational and analytical skills to identify hazards and enforce safety protocols.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to train and influence diverse teams.
  • Certification such as OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety or NEBOSH is highly desirable.
