Job description

Responsible for leading and overseeing all maintenance operations related to road infrastructure and street lighting within the jurisdiction. The role involves supervising construction and repair works, ensuring compliance with technical standards, managing departmental planning and budgeting, and coordinating with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety in road operations and maintenance.

Task Description
  1. Supervise the execution of road works, including kerbstone and interlock installation.
  2. Oversee road sidewalk painting operations.
  3. Supervise asphalt road maintenance, including surface repairs and installation of speed bumps, following the proposed plans.
  4. Supervise the installation of street lighting bases and poles.
  5. Ensure all technical specifications are met for road and lighting projects. Monitor quality, compliance with contract terms, and alignment with operational plans.
  6. Develop the department’s annual budget and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
  7. Prepare and oversee the execution of the department’s strategic and executive plans.
  8. Provide leadership to departmental staff, monitor day-to-day operations, and promote a high-performance culture
Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering / master's degree or equivalent professional credentials

Experience: 10–15 years in road maintenance, infrastructure, or civil works Government or municipal road management experience

Certifications: Accredited engineering or project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PE)

Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent
