The Department of Civil Engineering (CVE) in the College of Engineering at American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for a regular or visiting faculty position at the assistant, associate, or full professor level commencing in Fall Semester 2026.
The successful candidate for the regular position will be expected to establish a high-level, active research program supported by internal and external funding sources. The visiting faculty position is primarily focused on teaching. The visiting position is a one-year renewable contract, and the regular position is a three-year renewable contract.
The applicant is required to have a PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related field and demonstrate a significant teaching portfolio. Excellence in teaching and research, along with experience in the American model of higher education, are highly desirable. Applicants for the regular position should specialize in construction engineering and management and/or digital construction. Applicants for the visiting position can be in any specialty within civil engineering.

The department's diverse student and faculty body represents around 90 nationalities. It offers a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Digital Construction Engineering and Management, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering, a Master of Science in Construction Management, and a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
