Aldar Academies is currently seeking a Receptionist at Yas American Academy on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.

Yas American Academy opened in September 2016 providing high quality education to the Emirate. The children are taught the Massachusetts Common Core Curriculum – tailored to be meaningful to children attending the school, alongside the local curriculum of Arabic, Islamic Studies and Social Studies. Facilities at the school are excellent and include a large astro‑turf field, two swimming pools, well‑stocked library, a large multi‑purpose sports hall, an auditorium and outdoor play areas.

Role Purpose

To ensure exceptional customer service is provided to all parents and visitors, with all communications delivered professionally and courteously. The role supports student recruitment by creating a positive parent and visitor experience, embodying Aldar Education’s values, vision, and ethos. The position assists the Parents Relations Executive in managing enquiries, visitors, and stakeholder requests while maintaining high service standards.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Front‑of‑House
  • Provide high‑quality customer service to all visitors, staff, and prospective parents, representing the Academy professionally.
  • Greet visitors in a friendly, welcoming, and helpful manner.
  • Maintain a tidy, organised, and presentable reception area with all required materials (pens, forms, brochures, etc.).
  • Offer accurate information in person, by phone, and via email.
  • Answer, screen, and forward incoming calls following the Academy’s standard telephone etiquette and referral protocol.
  • Assist with inbound and outbound calls for the Admissions team.
  • Arrange transportation for visitors when required.
Admissions Support
  • Provide guidance to parents through the student registration and admission process at the initial enquiry stage.
  • Have strong knowledge of key Academy information, including curriculum, year groups, and processes.
  • Log all admissions enquiries into the school MIS/database.
  • Update calendars and schedule school tours.
  • Support with conducting school tours when necessary.
  • Promote the school and summer programmes to prospective parents through outbound calls.
Administration & Clerical Duties
  • Provide general administrative support such as photocopying, filing, faxing, answering routine correspondence, and completing standard forms.
  • Undertake word‑processing and other IT‑related tasks (database entry, Excel, online research).
  • Prepare lists, information, and reports as required (e.g., class lists).
  • Sort and distribute mail promptly.
  • Maintain a database of school visitors.
  • Update attendance registers and other school documents as needed.
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive information about the school, including curriculum, education levels, and tuition fees.
  • Ensure all interactions reflect a high standard of professionalism and support a positive parent experience.
  • Carry out any additional duties requested by the management team, aligned with the role’s scope and level, such as lead nurturing and parent tours.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Certificate/Diploma or a Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum Experience
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a receptionist or customer‑facing role within the region.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting is preferred.
