Job description

We are looking for a skilled radiology technician to work closely with patients when performing radiologic imaging procedures. The Radiology Technician's responsibilities include explaining procedures to patients, positioning patients and equipment, performing examinations, developing films, and maintaining and operating specialized radiologic equipment. The Radiology Technician is also responsible for ensuring patients' safety by covering any areas not being imaged to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation. You may become specialized in a particular radiographic procedure, such as MRI, CT, or Mammography.

To be successful as a radiology technician, you should have strong technical skills and good interpersonal skills when working with patients. You should be considerate, compassionate, and have the physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and assist physically disabled patients.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Completing the patients' intake process, taking patients' histories, and preparing and educating patients about the imaging procedure.
  2. Reviewing patients' charts and doctors' notes before the examination, and maintaining patients' records during and after procedures.
  3. Preparing radiopharmaceuticals for contrast in diagnostic images.
  4. Positioning patients and equipment to capture the correct area and produce clear images.
  5. Monitoring patients and ensuring their safety during imaging procedures.
  6. Calibrating equipment to ensure clear, usable images of the specified area.
  7. Logging and organizing image results, developing films, assisting with interpretation, and consulting with radiologists.
  8. Ensuring sterilization and proper storage of equipment, maintaining radiographic equipment, and reporting failures.
  9. Coordinating with the radiology department to schedule and complete procedures.
  10. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current radiology practices.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Radiography, Radiology Technology, or Medical/Diagnostic Imaging from an accredited university; Diploma or Associate degree in Radiology.
  • UAE license or eligibility preferred.
  • Fluency in English (spoken, read, and written).
