The ideal candidate will have a diploma in Mechanical Engineering and 3-5 years of relevant QC piping experience, along with strong knowledge of piping materials and standards such as ASME and API. Excellent attention to detail and communication skills are essential for this role.

Role Overview

Orbit International Survey Services (Orbit ISS) is seeking an experienced QC Piping Inspector to support commissioning activities on Oil & Gas and Energy projects. The role focuses on inspection, verification, and quality assurance of piping systems to ensure full compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and client requirements during installation, testing, and commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and verify P&IDs, isometrics, and test packages against installed piping systems
  • Inspect pipe routing, size, material grade, orientation, and installation accuracy
  • Check pipe supports, hangers, guides, and spring supports as per approved drawings
  • Verify installation of valves, fittings, flanges, gaskets, bolts, reducers, and strainers
  • Inspect weld quality, ensure weld maps are updated, and verify NDE records and traceability
  • Confirm piping systems are mechanically complete and ready for hydrotesting or reinstatement
  • Inspect flange connections, gasket selection, bolt material, alignment, and orientation
  • Verify torque/tensioning procedures, tightening sequence, lubrication, and tolerances
  • Witness and inspect hydrostatic and pneumatic testing, including leak checks and line walk‑downs
  • Ensure all inspection reports and documentation are completed accurately and on time
Requirements
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • 3–5 years of QC piping inspection experience in Oil & Gas projects
  • Strong knowledge of piping materials, isometrics, welding, and testing procedures
  • Familiarity with ASME, API, and ISO standards
  • CSWIP, ASNT, or API certification is preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong reporting and documentation skills
  • Good communication and coordination skills to work with multidisciplinary teams
