The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company's Quality Management System (QMS) across all construction projects in the UAE. This role ensures that all works adhere to international standards (ISO), client specifications, regulatory requirements, and local UAE building codes. The Quality Manager will lead the quality team, drive a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure delivery of projects of the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- QMS Implementation & Maintenance: Develop, document, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001 and project-specific requirements.
- Inspection and Testing: Oversee and manage all site inspection activities, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and material testing procedures.
- Compliance and Audits: Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with the QMS and project specifications. Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to ensure root cause analysis and timely closure.
- Documentation Control: Ensure accurate and timely control of all quality documentation, records, and handover packages for final client approval.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the site Quality Control (QC) Inspectors and Quality Assurance (QA) engineers.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for the client’s quality representatives and third-party inspection agencies.
- Reporting: Prepare and present detailed quality performance reports, metrics (KPIs), and trend analysis to the project management team and senior leadership.
- Training: Conduct quality awareness and training sessions for site personnel to promote a quality-first culture.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in Quality Management, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within the UAE or GCC construction market.
- Proven experience managing quality for large-scale, complex projects (e.g., high-rise, infrastructure, industrial facilities).
Core Competencies
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of construction processes, materials specifications, and testing protocols.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local UAE building codes, authority requirements (e.g., Dubai Municipality, Abu Dhabi Municipality), and relevant international standards.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English is essential. Proficiency in Arabic is a significant advantage.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills in a demanding project environment.
