Black & Grey HR is recruiting for a leading provider of integrated products services and customized engineering solutions company in Abu Dhabi UAE. Our client is looking for a Proposal Engineer having experience in technical proposal preparation and cost estimation preferably within the fire and safety industry. Candidates with a background in Instrumentation, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering are encouraged to apply. This role involves managing the end‑to‑end proposal development process for engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Proposal Development & Cost Estimation
- Analyze client requirements and develop comprehensive technical and commercial proposals.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including engineering, procurement and operations.
- Ensure all proposals comply with client specifications, industry standards and internal guidelines.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Interact with clients to understand technical needs and address queries.
- Support business development and sales teams with proposal content and pricing insights.
- Assist in negotiations by providing technical and commercial justifications.
- Product Research & Development
- Stay updated on new technologies and products relevant to the company’s offerings.
- Conduct research to propose optimal tailored solutions.
- Evaluate vendors and suppliers for quality and cost‑effectiveness.
- Internal Support & Collaboration
- Guide internal teams on technical and commercial proposal matters.
- Contribute to improving proposal processes and documentation practices.
- Work closely with finance and operations to ensure accuracy in proposals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- 4 to 5 years of experience in proposal engineering or technical sales.
- Prior experience in the fire and safety field is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in engineering design tools, ERP systems and MS Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and technical problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent technical writing and documentation abilities.
- Solid knowledge of cost estimation and pricing models.
- Ability to research, evaluate and recommend engineering solutions.
- Effective communication, negotiation and teamwork skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
