The Projects Director is a key role in the Company and plays a crucial role in managing all phases of interior design projects, including new builds and refurbishments. They will oversee teams, resources, timelines, schedules, compliance, quality assurance, budgeting, financial management of projects and client interactions. The Projects Director will demonstrate strong leadership skills while ensuring efficient project delivery. They will also participate in company initiatives and lead these initiatives to ensure team collaboration and fostering a creative work environment.

Duration: 24 months contract
What You’ll Do
Project Management
  • Lead multiple concurrent interior design projects from start to finish.
  • Develop and Manage comprehensive project plans, including scope, budgeting, scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Regularly monitor project progress and proactively address any risks or issues.
  • Implement effective strategies to overcome obstacles and ensure successful project completion.
  • Manage all project programs and ensure these are up to date.
  • Manage teams of designers, architects and consultants with clear communication channels.
  • Provide guidance on design concepts while fostering creativity within the team.
  • Provide guidance on technical design and ensure quality of all packages
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review progress and address concerns or obstacles.
  • Lead and ensure involvement in company initiatives to foster a creative work environment.
  • Ensure all project internal processes are adhered to including scheduling all internal KDR’s.
  • Lead sustainable initiatives with the team and ensure these are adhered into projects.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout all phases of the project.
  • Understand client requirements thoroughly while effectively managing their expectations.
  • Build strong relationships with clients by consistently delivering exceptional service.
Budgeting & Cost Control
  • Develop accurate cost estimates based on client requirements and specifications where required.
  • Monitor budget throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to financial targets.
  • Employ efficient procurement strategies while maintaining quality standards.
Quality Assurance & Documentation
  • Ensure compliance with KZC ISO standards for running and completing projects.
  • Coordinate technical design reviews with consultants to translate designs into buildable solutions.
  • Oversee documentation accuracy for all aspects of the project process.
Staff Management & Performance Evaluation
  • Establish KPIs for team members
  • Provide feedback on performance
  • Work closely with consultants/suppliers and contractors during the design process for seamless coordination and execution of project deliverables.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between various consultants and internal team and manage the process to ensure design work is coordinated.
  • Review technical submittals and material submittals to ensure responses are promt with the internal team
  • Review shop drawings where required with the design team
  • Review compliances/deviations and any statutory compliance needs
  • Review Method statements for installations and built documentation
  • Answer RFIs, resolve design conflicts and coordination issues raised by Contractor or consultants with the internal project team
  • Provide Revised drawings/schedules/sketches if required to facilitate work on site with the project team
  • Review built mock ups at factories where required.
  • Prepare necessary VO’s for projects where additional scope is required.
  • Follow up and manage with accounts team payments for projects.
  • Follow up with clients for payments where required.
General
  • Lead by example and ensure the team is providing a professional level of service and consistently exhibiting Kristina Zanic Consultants Service Standard and Values
Other Responsibilities
  • Train and mentor staff
  • Participate in company initiatives and lead teams where necessary.
  • Ensure full use of the filing system and databases
  • Be punctual and on time to commence work
  • Be responsible for ensuring that a professional, neat and tidy appearance is portrayed at all times, including leading by example through maintaining high standards of morale and appearance
  • Assist and work together as part of a team, creating and maintaining a harmonious work environment
  • Be readily available at all times to deal with problems or concerns
  • Ensure Company rules & procedures are followed in accordance with the Employee Handbook
  • Participate in Quarterly management workshops to present and report on company progress and findings associated with studio efficiency, development and production
Qualifications & Experience
  • A proven record of success in senior level general or commercial management, preferably in a related industry
  • Ten (10) years’ senior level experience of management of people and resources
  • Graduate level of intellect preferably with a higher degree in a management discipline or a professional qualification
  • A wide knowledge of the design industry
  • A good understanding of financial management, management principles and techniques
  • Political and presentational skills with an appreciation of the demands of conflicting interests and of meeting statutory requirements
  • A very high level of commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
Languages & Skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Autodesk and Adobe applications
  • Working knowledge of a construction programming software
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines
  • Ability to schedule and manage a design team as well as project management
