THE ROLE

Reports to the Senior Project Manager/Project Director for ensuring delivery of one or more project sites.

Project Description

KBR has been appointed under a framework agreement with the largest developer in Abu Dhabi to oversee a diverse portfolio of projects that contribute to Abu Dhabi's growth. This includes developing essential infrastructure such as transportation networks and utilities, alongside public spaces and involving the shaping of thriving communities by managing the development of residential housing projects and ensuring the quality of new educational facilities, together with the development of mosques and maximising urban space through infill development projects. This PMC role offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on Abu Dhabi's built environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Supporting the Senior Project Manager/Project Director in the management of all aspects of delivering one or more projects or packages as part of the programme management consultant’s role on a major programme of residential housing development works.
    • Management and support of the Site Delivery Team ensuring that the project goals and schedule are understood and delivered.
  • Manage delivery of project construction, coordinating on all logistics, permitting, commissioning and handover activities to ensure delivery of the Project to technical, budget, schedule and quality requirements established for the Project.
    • Interface with all sections of the team to meet overall program deliverables.
  • Development, establishment and execution of standards, policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Liaise with the Technical Team to assist in the development of design solutions that promote constructability and value engineering.
    • Monitoring of site activities and performance of the construction and supervision teams, monitoring through KPIs, progress reporting and other tools.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the construction supervisors and the contractors, including on QHS&E requirements.
Experience, Skills and Knowledge
  • BSc/BEng in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent.
  • Minimum 15 years overall experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in the Middle East.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in project management, construction management and practice and the delivery of complex major building projects such as residential towers, schools, mixed use and villa developments.
  • Experience managing teams of at least 15 to 20 persons.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills and use of MS Office.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken); Arabic speaking advantageous.
