Principal Customer Solutions Engineer Location:

Job Description:

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Sales in the EMEA region, facilitating all technical discussions.
  • Engage with customers to develop tailored technical solutions that meet or exceed their requirements.
  • Guide the Sales team toward optimal technical solutions by assessing feasibility, timeline, and implementation while adhering to best practices.
  • Develop strong technical relationships with existing and potential customers to gain market insights.
  • Provide Sales with strategic intelligence to identify and drive new business opportunities.
  • Develop teamwork by cultivating strong relationships with the CSE team, proactively sharing knowledge, exchanging valuable insights, and providing support to ensure collective success.

Responsibilities:

Pre-Sales Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customers to gain a deep understanding of their requirements and capabilities.
  • Perform Link Budget Analysis utilizing optimal satellite capacity based on available inventory.
  • Design customized technical solutions and develop comprehensive technical proposals that align with customer needs. Solutions may include satellite capacity, satellite capacity with managed services, or managed services alone.
  • Support the Sales team in project design by assessing available satellite capacity, equipment, technology, and infrastructure to ensure alignment with technical requirements.
  • Partner with Sales to analyze RFP requirements and collaborate internally to develop compelling technical proposals.
  • Engage with customers to validate and refine proposed solutions and ensure alignment with their expectations.
  • Identify and evaluate potential partnerships to address market demands effectively.
  • Drive opportunity prioritization within the region.

Post-Sales Responsibilities

  • Drive work orders
  • Coordinate customer availability and technical support team resources to efficiently drive work orders.
  • Ensure the readiness of the space segment and ground equipment before service activation.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Customer Communication
  • Keep the customer informed with regular updates.
  • Ensure the customer stays on track to meet their goals.
  • Understand the customer s plans to position ABS for future opportunities.
  • Primary technical point of contact for escalating ongoing operational issues that require customer action.
Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in satellite communications, including technologies, topologies, and applications.
  • Proven expertise in Link Budget Analysis, with a comprehensive understanding of its core principles, is essential for this position.
  • Solid understanding of ground equipment functionality, implementation, and operation hands-on experience is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with the EMEA regional market, including customer needs, competitors, vendors, available solutions, and market pricing.
  • Proficient in VSAT platforms and modem technologies, including data and video services such as iDirect, Newtec, Comtech & UHP, Gilat, HNS, and Novelsat.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mobility networks and SATCOM on the move solutions.
  • Knowledge of design and installation of video services including contribution, distribution, OTT, and emerging technologies experience in Video Broadcasting is a plus.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in Sales Engineering or a similar role, specifically with satellite communication services and ground equipment.
  • Strong team player, collaborating effectively with peers, sales teams, and customers.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment while performing duties.
  • Fluent in English additional language skills are a plus.
