We are looking for a skilled Piping Material Engineer to join our team for a key EPC project with ADNOC in the Oil & Gas sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in piping materials selection, procurement, and specification development for large-scale, complex oil and gas projects. The Piping Material Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the proper selection and management of materials for piping systems, ensuring compliance with ADNOC and industry standards, and supporting the project throughout the lifecycle.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure the correct selection of piping materials based on the process conditions, project specifications, and applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM, ANSI, API, and ADNOC standards).
  • Develop and review piping material specifications (PMS) for various piping systems and ensure their compliance with project requirements.
  • Perform material class development and manage material classification for different types of piping systems.
  • Work closely with procurement teams to specify and procure piping materials, ensuring alignment with project schedules and budgets.
  • Review vendor submittals, data sheets, and material certifications for compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet project milestones and resolve any material-related issues during procurement.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) teams to ensure the correct material handling, testing, and certification of materials.
  • Conduct material verification and ensure compliance with both project and ADNOC quality requirements.
  • Support the inspection and testing of materials during manufacturing and delivery to ensure compliance with material specifications.
  • Collaborate with design, piping, stress analysis, and construction teams to ensure that piping materials meet design, fabrication, and installation requirements.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to resolve any material-related issues during design, fabrication, and construction stages.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide expert advice on materials selection and usage.
  • Prepare technical reports, material requisitions, and purchase orders for piping materials.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all material approvals, certifications, and tracking information.
  • Provide ongoing technical support for all piping material-related queries throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all piping materials are selected in compliance with ADNOCs specific material codes, as well as international industry standards and codes.
  • Monitor compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations related to material selection and usage.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical evaluations and reports for compliance audits and inspections.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in piping material engineering within the Oil & Gas industry, with a focus on EPC projects.
  • Proven experience working on ADNOC projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong experience in material selection, procurement, and specifications development for piping systems in accordance with project requirements and codes.
  • In-depth knowledge of piping materials, standards, and specifications (e.g., ASME, API, ASTM, ADNOC) for Oil & Gas projects.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as MS Office, SAP, or similar material management systems.
  • Proficient in preparing and reviewing Piping Material Specifications (PMS), Material Requisitions (MR), and Material Take-Offs (MTO).
  • Strong knowledge of piping materials, valves, fittings, and piping components used in upstream oil and gas production facilities.
  • Familiarity with stress analysis, material compatibility, and industry codes and standards.
