Overview
To help us maintain our high standards of service we are seeking an experienced and accomplished Logistics Supervisor to drive both innovation and execution in our busy Transportation network.
Responsibilities
- Deputize for the Operations Manager as required and support the overall daily management of operational duties.
- Prioritize and continually improve safety at the delivery station; supervise logistics assistants, coordinators and delivery associates to ensure shipments meet and exceed established KPIs.
- Monitor coordinator and associate performance and coach them when needed; partner with supporting departments to improve logistics processes and operations; communicate with our delivery service providers to set expectations and raise the bar on quality of their deliverables.
- Interview candidates for associate roles.
- Brief and monitor the workload of all drivers and associates; maintain a keen eye for detail to ensure administrative tasks are accurately and fully completed; measure and monitor overall workflows and daily metrics; assist the Operations Manager with tracking trends and reporting on site performance.
- Help with training and mentoring new Associates to ensure they have the knowledge needed to carry out their tasks; follow up on and resolve process-related issues as required.
- Perform related physical tasks as needed (e.g., pushing carts up to 100 pounds and lifting packages up to 15 kg).
- Be flexible to work different shifts and to perform overtime when needed.
- Together with the Operations Manager, sufficiently resource your function by monitoring training needs, absence and performance management, coaching, and continuous monitoring of department productivity.
- Make Shifts Plan (Receive/Dock/Stow) and work on mechanisms for a good overall flow.
Qualifications
- Basic qualifications: Experience in warehouse operations; Experience in logistics.
- Preferred qualifications: Experience with planning, performance metrics and process improvement.
