About the job OFFSHORE TELECOM ENGINEER

We are seeking an experienced Offshore Telecom Engineer to support FEED, Detailed Engineering, and Detailed Design for offshore oil & gas projects in the UAE. The role focuses on offshore drilling rigs and rig refurbishment projects. Extensive offshore experience is mandatory, with proven exposure to offshore telecom systems. Experience working on Saudi Aramco offshore projects is highly preferred and will be a key advantage.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare telecom engineering deliverables including telecom system architecture, block diagrams, network layouts, cable schedules, and routing drawings
• Support FEED and Detailed Engineering activities in compliance with project specifications and offshore standards
• Design and review offshore telecom systems such as:
  • PAGA and PA/GA systems
  • Telephone and VoIP systems
  • LAN/WAN and data networks
  • CCTV and access control systems
  • Radio, microwave, and wireless communication systems
• Prepare and review telecom specifications, data sheets, and requisitions for telecom equipment and packages
• Ensure compliance with international standards and offshore requirements (IEC, ITU, IEEE, API, and project specifications)
• Coordinate with electrical, instrumentation, IT, and layout disciplines to ensure integrated and clash-free designs
• Support hazardous area compliance for telecom equipment installed in offshore environments
• Participate in vendor document reviews, technical bid evaluations, and FATs
• Support design reviews, HAZID/HAZOPs, and client meetings
• Provide engineering support during offshore construction, installation, commissioning, refurbishment, and as-built documentation

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• Minimum 12 years of offshore telecom engineering experience, including offshore drilling rigs and refurbishment projects
• Saudi Aramco offshore project experience is highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of FEED, Detailed Engineering, and Detailed Design execution
• Hands‑on experience with offshore telecom systems including PAGA, data networks, CCTV, radio, and security systems
• Proficiency in engineering tools and software such as AutoCAD, Smart Plant, telecom planning tools, or equivalent
• Experience in vendor coordination and multidisciplinary project environments
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in an offshore engineering environment
