Job description

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain the university’s network infrastructure to ensure maximum efficiency and continuity.

Develop procedures that align with university bylaws and industry best practices, ensuring the network meets business and educational needs.

Monitor the health and performance of the university’s network systems, including LAN, WAN, Internet, and wireless connectivity.

Proactively address any performance issues or failures to ensure minimal disruption to users.

Implement and continuously update security protocols to safeguard the network from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and data breaches.

Conduct vulnerability assessments and perform regular network audits.

Troubleshoot network issues quickly, providing solutions to minimize downtime and ensure continuous service.

Maintain accurate records of network configurations, modifications, and processes to ensure compliance with internal and external audits.

Report network performance and security issues to management, offering recommendations for improvements.

Make sure to provide secure wireless network access to the users.

Provide technical support for CCTV and access control systems.

Maintain and continuously update documentation, including HLD and LLD.

Perform risk assessments and highlight risks to management in a timely manner.

Should be a team player and continuous learner.

Specialized Tasks

Plan network upgrades and expansion in accordance with future growth projections.

Conduct capacity planning and manage network scalability to ensure the infrastructure adapts to increasing usage over time.

Lead and supervise the implementation of network-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and requirements.

Regularly test backup and recovery procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and functional.

Establish and enforce security policies and configurations for firewalls, routers, and switches.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field. Proficient in both Arabic and English, verbally and in writing.

Experience: 2-4 years of hands-on experience.

Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies in network management, cybersecurity, and infrastructure to continuously improve network services.

Develop user guides and documentation to assist in the smooth use of network services.
