Job summary

A contracting service provider in Dubai is seeking an Estimator to manage estimation and procurement for MEP projects. Estimation & Cost Planning (The "Estimator" Part)
  • Detailed Costing: Analyze drawings, specs to price materials (wiring, pipes, HVAC units) & labor for M, E, & P systems.
  • BOQ Preparation: Develop Bills of Quantities and cost summaries for tenders.
  • Budgeting: Create budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Value Engineering: Find cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality.
Tendering & Procurement (The "Procurement" Part)
  • Tender Docs: Prepare tender documents (invitations, specs) for MEP works.
  • Bid Evaluation: Review, analyze, and compare subcontractor/supplier bids (cost, quality, reliability).
  • Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms with suppliers and contractors.
  • Sourcing: Identify and select suitable MEP suppliers and contractors.
Quantity Surveying  & Cost Control (The "QS" Part)
  • Cost Monitoring: Track expenditures, compare against budget, report variances.
  • Contract Admin: Manage MEP contracts, handle variations, claims, and change orders.
  • Measurement: Measure and value work done on-site for payments.
  • Final Account: Settle final accounts for MEP works.
Collaboration & Reporting
  • Liaison: Work with Project Managers, Engineers, Clients, Architects.
  • Reporting: Provide financial updates, progress reports, and risk assessments.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to codes, standards, and specifications.
