Job Summary
AECOM Middle East is currently seeking to recruit a Coastal / Marine Engineer with marine/coastal engineering design consultancy experience to join our team in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in performing portions of broader assignments under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Gather and analyze basic engineering data using established procedures.
- Work on routine engineering assignments, including calculations and simple tests.
- Support in identifying and resolving discrepancies in results.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to complete design elements for engineering works.
- Assist with project delivery, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within budget.
- Liaise with clients and other engineering and modeling specialists under supervision.
- Follow quality control procedures to maintain AECOM’s reputation for excellence.
- Contribute to the preparation of bids, proposals, and cost estimates.
- Support project management and client coordination efforts.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in coastal and marine engineering within a consultancy environment. Experience in the Middle East is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge and experience in the design of coastal and marine structures, such as breakwaters, revetments, groynes, artificial beaches, quay walls, sheet pile walls, jetties, reinforced concrete structures, steel structures, etc.
- Familiarity with coastal modeling, including MetOcean, wave transformation, wave penetration, hydrodynamic modeling, sediment transport, flushing, etc.
- Ability to assist in preparing reports, drawings, Bills of Quantities (BoQs), and specifications.
- Experience with relevant software, such as MIKE 21, Swan, Delft 3D, SBEACH, GEO5, STAAD Pro, Tekla / SAP.
- Familiarity with key standards and guidelines, including The Rock Manual, British Standards, and Eurocodes for the design of coastal and marine structures.
- Proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Coastal and Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering. Master’s degree is preferred.
- Chartership and/or a PhD are considered a plus.
- Experience in the planning and design of coastal and marine structures.
- Experience in port and harbor planning and design is a plus.
