Librarian

The Dubai Public Library is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our team. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection, providing research assistance to library patrons, and developing and implementing educational programs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for literature and knowledge, excellent communication skills, and experience working in a library setting.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's collection by organizing, cataloging, and shelving materials
- Provide research assistance to library patrons by helping them locate resources and providing information
- Develop and implement educational programs for children and adults, including story times, book clubs, and workshops
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions
- Create displays to promote new books or resources
- Keep up-to-date with new books and materials in order to make recommendations to patrons
- Assist with administrative tasks such as ordering supplies and maintaining equipment

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in English (knowledge of Malayalam is a plus)
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Familiarity with biometric passport systems is preferred
