Job summary

A reputable engineering firm in Dubai is seeking a detail-oriented Lead Planning Engineer to oversee project scheduling and control functions for large-scale projects. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in planning, at least 7 years of experience in the Construction or Oil & Gas sectors in the Middle East, and expertise in using Primavera P6. Job Title: Lead Planning Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Planning Engineer to spearhead project scheduling and control functions for large-scale construction or oil & gas projects in the Middle East. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in planning and project controls with the ability to guide a team interface with stakeholders and drive project success through meticulous planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop maintain and monitor comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent tools.
  • Prepare baseline schedules look-ahead plans progress measurement systems and recovery plans.
  • Lead project planning meetings and coordinate with engineering procurement and construction teams.
  • Conduct critical path analysis delay analysis and resource/cost loading assessments.
  • Generate weekly and monthly progress reports and dashboards for management and client stakeholders.
  • Identify schedule variances trends and deviations; propose mitigation and recovery strategies.
  • Manage project change requests and assess time impact analysis for variation orders.
  • Ensure alignment between project schedules and cost control budgets.
  • Maintain an interface with clients consultants and subcontractors regarding project status and schedule risks.
  • Lead and mentor junior planners and ensure adherence to planning standards and procedures.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor s Degree in Engineering or equivalent)
  • Master s Degree in Project Management is desirable
  • PMP certification is preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the Middle East as a Planning Engineer in the Construction or Oil & Gas sector
