A Mason is responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining structures made of brick, block, stone, concrete, or similar materials. This role requires precision, strength, and knowledge of construction techniques to ensure durable and structurally sound results.

Construction Work

• Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stones, or tiles to build walls, partitions, arches, chimneys, and other structures.
• Use mortar or other bonding agents to bind units together.
• Align structures horizontally and vertically using levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.

Surface Preparation

• Measure and mark layout lines on surfaces.
• Mix and prepare mortar, cement, or grout by hand or with mixing machines.
• Cut or shape materials using tools like hammers, chisels, and saws.

Repair and Maintenance

• Restore or repair damaged masonry, including repointing mortar joints.
• Replace cracked or broken bricks or stones.
• Waterproof or seal masonry surfaces if required.
