Job summary

A leading broadcast services company in Dubai is seeking an experienced HGV Light Vehicle Driver to ensure smooth execution of live broadcasts. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of truck driving experience, be technically inclined, and converse in Urdu, Hindi, or Arabic. Responsibilities include performing vehicle maintenance, managing logistics, and assisting with broadcast equipment setup. This role may require crossing borders and handling diverse locations for events.

Qualifications

• Minimally 5 years of OB Truck driving experience.
• Able to converse in either Urdu, Hindi or Arabic.
• Hold a Heavy Truck driver’s licence and have driven extensively throughout Middle East and Gulf.
• Be technically/mechanically inclined, and able to recognise, assemble and set up all OB equipment.
• Be physically strong and have stamina.
• Know how to rig and mount all OB equipment, both camera- and sound-related, monitors.
• Crossing border experience and logistics experience.

Responsibilities

• Performing basic maintenance checks on the OB truck.
• Working closely with the broadcast team.
• Managing logistics for timely arrival.
• Adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
• Safely driving the OB truck to various locations.
• Assisting in the setup of broadcast equipment.

Job Description

An HGV Light Vehicle Driver needs to have a mix of technical knowledge, driving skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. They play a vital role in ensuring that live broadcasts are executed smoothly and successfully.

Responsibilities

• Performing basic maintenance and checks on the OB truck to ensure it is roadworthy and the broadcast equipment inside is secure and functioning properly.
• Working closely with the broadcast team, including producers, directors, camera operators, and engineers.
• Managing logistics, such as planning the most efficient routes to the location, ensuring timely arrival, and coordinating with event organizers and local authorities for permissions and access.
• Adhering to all safety protocols and regulations related to both driving and broadcast operations.

During Project

• Safely driving the OB truck to various locations, which can range from sports events and concerts to news coverage and other live events.
• Assisting in the setup of broadcast equipment upon arrival at the location.
• Providing technical support to the broadcast engineers and crew.
• Monitoring the equipment during the broadcast and making adjustments as needed.

After The Project

• Assisting with the teardown and packing up of equipment after the event, ensuring everything is safely stored and ready for transport to the next location or back to the base.
