Job Purpose

Alpha Flight Services, part of dnata, provide culinary and inflight retail services to a wide range of airline customers and also operate food and beverage outlets and airport lounges at Ras Al-Khaimah and Sharjah International Airports.

As Head of Procurement, Alpha Flight Services, you will lead the development and execution of Alpha's company-wide procurement strategy, driving value through best practice sourcing, negotiation and supplier management. You will also oversee and support a team of procurement professionals to ensure effective customer and supplier relationship management, delivering cost efficiency and competitive advantage across high-value commodities and services.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and implement business-wide procurement strategies and policies to ensure consistent, cost-effective purchasing across all business units.
  • Lead and support a team of procurement professionals, ensuring delivery against service levels and alignment with business goals.
  • Drive data-led decision-making using Oracle ERP tools and analytics to enhance sourcing, spend visibility and process efficiency.
  • Collaborate with dnata Catering & Retail and Group businesses to share best practices, leverage synergies and optimise costs.
  • Oversee supplier sourcing, evaluation and tendering processes to ensure compliance, competitiveness and value for money.
  • Lead high-value commercial negotiations and contract management to secure optimal terms and mitigate supply and commercial risks.
  • Establish and monitor procurement SLAs, systems and performance targets, ensuring continuous improvement and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Provide expert procurement input during product design and feasibility phases to maximise value and resource utilisation.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, benchmark performance and stay informed on market and technical developments.
  • Coach and develop the procurement team, fostering a high-performance culture aligned with Alpha's vision and strategic objectives.
Qualifications

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree within a relevant field of study
  • At least 10+ years of experience in procurement & contract management, with at least 4 years team management experience
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP or similar platforms, with a strong understanding of procurement modules

You'll have an edge if you have:

  • A proven track record of supplier sourcing, evaluation and negotiation
  • Are a Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply
  • Strong organisational and line management skills.
  • Ability to influence the decision-making process of various departments
  • Strong interpersonal skills, experience and confidence to influence senior level stakeholders
