Overview
The Fleet Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and deployment of our care lease fleet. This role is crucial in maintaining high-quality vehicles, optimising asset utilisation, and delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the fleet management team, including training, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance schedule for all vehicles.
- Coordinate regular inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance to ensure fleet safety and reliability.
- Manage relationships with external service providers, mechanics, and suppliers.
- Plan and execute the acquisition of new vehicles as needed to meet business demands.
- Evaluate and manage the disposal of aging or obsolete vehicles through sales, auctions, or other means.
- Monitor vehicle utilisation and analyse data to optimise fleet size and composition.
- Develop strategies to maximise vehicle uptime and minimise downtime.
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of drivers.
- Ensure drivers adhere to safety protocols, including compliance with traffic regulations and vehicle inspection procedures.
- Develop and manage the fleet budget, including operating expenses, maintenance costs, and capital expenditures.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency measures.
- Ensure all vehicles meet legal and regulatory requirements, including licensing, insurance, and emissions.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Generate and analyse reports on fleet performance, costs, and key performance indicators. Make data-driven recommendations for process improvements.
- Collaborate with the team to address customer inquiries, concerns, and issues related to fleet operations.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including clients and internal departments, to develop SLAs.
- Monitor and enforce SLAs to ensure service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Regularly review and revise SLAs to align with business goals and changing customer needs.
- Uphold company values throughout business practices and utilise sound judgment in decision making.
- Any other additional duties as may be required by management based on needs of the business
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of proven experience in Fleet Manager or a similar role in the automotive industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, safety regulations, and compliance
