We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Finance Officer. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this full-time and permanent position is based in United Arab Emirates and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our External Finance and it’s growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Finance Officer support to client’s in delivering the overall financial management and regulatory reporting
- Manage the day-to-day activity of the finance and accounting operations of our clients, ensuring that responsibilities are organised and carried out efficiently and within agreed timelines.
Duties and Responsibilities
Core responsibilities of Finance Officer
- Ensure the company’s capital resources and liquidity of the firm are in compliance with its regulatory requirements at all times
- Ongoing liaison and reporting to the senior management Development of strategic direction, goals, and objectives for all reporting sections within the finance function, ensuring alignment with the strategic plans of the company
- Preparation of monthly quarterly and annual EPRS returns (PIBs)
- Coordination and preparation of financial and management reports, business plans, business activity reports, financial position and cash forecasts, annual budgets, and/or reports required by regulatory authorities including statutory audit and tax compliance
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of the applicable financial and regulatory reporting requirements
- Provide accounting and bookkeeping support where required
- Assist in authorization projects, prepare financial projections
Operational and Process Improvement
- Periodically review processes and procedures within external finance department provide suggestions for process improvements where it deemed necessary
- Assist with process improvement and implementation of strategy updates once agreed
- Advocate a strong risk and compliance culture
Knowledge/Skills Requirements
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and liaise with individuals as required
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritise and meet deadlinesSelf-motivating and able to work accurately at speed
- IT literate with a high level of competence in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of accounting systems (Xero, QuickBooks desirable)
- Proactive with positive attitude and reliable approach towards work
Professional Qualifications and Minimum Relevant Experience
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience within a similar role
- Recognised qualification in Accounting (ACA or ACCA) or similar
- Background in regulated financial services entity, esp. DFSA/FSRA preferred
- Competency in management and statutory accounts production as per IFRS
