Job summary

A leading design and engineering firm in Dubai is seeking an experienced designer to prepare detailed shop drawings and descriptions for aluminium and glazing systems. Ideal candidates should have between 3-6 years of experience in the façade or curtain wall industry, with proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. Strong understanding of façade systems and excellent attention to detail are critical for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in aluminium/glazing design, preferably in façade or curtain wall industry.
• Strong understanding of façade systems, aluminium extrusions, and glazing solutions.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare concept schematic and detailed design/shop drawings for aluminium and glazing systems.
• Develop fabrication drawings cutting lists and material takeoffs based on approved designs.
• Coordinate with façade engineers, structural consultants, and other disciplines to ensure design integration.
• Ensure all designs meet project specifications, codes, and performance criteria.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare concept schematic and detailed design/shop drawings for aluminium and glazing systems.
• Develop fabrication drawings cutting lists and material takeoffs based on approved designs.
• Interpret architectural and structural drawings to create accurate glazing layouts and system details.
• Coordinate with faade engineers structural consultants and other disciplines to ensure design integration.
• Ensure all designs meet project specifications codes thermal and structural performance criteria and aesthetic standards.
• Incorporate system supplier guidelines (e.g. Schco Technal Reynaers etc. into design output.
• Revise and update drawings based on client/consultant comments and site conditions.
• Support tender submittals RFIs and technical queries related to aluminium and glazing works.
• Work with BIM models and/or CAD tools to ensure clashfree and coordinated design output.
• Assist in the development of standard details and design libraries.
  

Key Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Architecture Civil Engineering or related field.
• 36 years of experience in aluminium/glazing design (preferably in faade or curtain wall industry).
• Proficient in AutoCAD Revit and 2D/3D modeling software; knowledge of BIM workflows is a plus.
• Strong understanding of faade systems aluminium extrusions and glazing solutions.
• Familiarity with fabrication and installation processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
